TESTIMONY OF LOVE by Kent Clifford Cooley

This is the 5th of 7 devotions and music videos
with the theme
"God's Love For Us"

(Adapted from 1 Corinthians 13:13; 1John 4:19)

I remember the day I fell in love with Jesus.  I was overwhelmed, at nine years old, when I first realized that it was all about love.  Since that time, not for one moment, have I fallen out of love with Him.  However, I did not love Him first.  He loved me first.   He loved me so much so that He gave His life as a ransom for my sins.  Many years have come and gone since that day.  He has continued to love me even though I have been less than faithful.  My love for Him has always returned me to Him to confess my sins.  Because of His love for me He has always been faithful to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.  What a wonderful journey this has been with the greatest love of my life.  I am more in love with Him now than ever.  If I ever doubt His love for me I only have to look for a love letter Written in Red at Calvary.

RUN TO ME / God Shows

This is the 4th of 7 devotions and music videos
with the theme
"God's Love 4 Us"

RUN TO ME
by Kent Cooley
Adopted from Romans 5:7, 8
If I have any doubt concerning God's love for me, I take another look at Calvary.  Calvary is where . . .

God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.

Paul goes on to say that if God's love was extended to us for salvation, it is also extended to us for our everyday life.  The love that God showed and proved at Calvary is new every morning to extend forgivness and healing.  It is the moment by moment source of overcoming victoriously.  The love shown and proved, imparts to me the God kind of love,  the God kind of faith and the God kind of grace to overcome.

Father, I stand in awe of the love you showed and proved at Calvary.  I believe and receive that love.  Now I will share Your love.  Love through me.

"My child, If you sin, do not let time go by.  Run to me immediately and humble yourself, seek my face, turn from your wicked ways.  I will hear you.  I will forgive you.  I will heal you.  Run to me! "

GOD SHOWS
Devotion: Run To Me
(Romans 5:7, 8)
Verse:
Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life
Even for an upright man, though perhaps for a noble and loveable and generous
Benefactor someone might even dare to die
Chorus:
But God shows and clearly proves His own love for us, His love for us
That while we were yet sinners, while we were still in our sins
Christ, the Messiah, the anointed one died for us

SONSHIP / THE FATHER HIMSELF

This is the 3rd of 7 devotions with the theme
"God’s Love For Us"

SONSHIP
(John 16:27; 1 Corinthians 13:13;)
There was a season when there was a certain compromise in my life. During this time it seemed that everything was always going wrong. I asked the Lord about this. I pointed out a man to Him that was very blessed financially, yet he was a very profane man and a womanizer. The Lord spoke to me so very lovingly and said. “You are a son and I chastise those I love.” I decided right then that I would rather be a chastised son then a man who appears to be blessed financially yet he is not a child of God. It was not long until His love drew me back into fellowship with Himself.

The Father Himself tenderly loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came out from the Father.”

Father, thank you for affirming your unfailing love - a special love that you have for those who have loved Your Son, Jesus and have believed that He came out from You. Whether I am under Your chastisement or under Your blessing, my joy is complete to know that I am Yours and You are mine. I receive Your correction and I renew my covenant with You today.

Chorus:
He loves me tenderly
He loves me tenderly

UNFEIGNED LOVE / He Loves Me

This is the second of seven devotions
with the theme
"God's Love for Us"

UNFEIGNED LOVE
(Adapted from 2 Corinthians 6:6-7)

During my teenage years, there was a mother figure in my life, a very influential lady. Years later, I heard that she had gone through a divorce and her life had taken some wrong turns because of some misguided decisions. I visited her and I remember thanking her for the good influence she had been on my young life. I remember saying, “I just wanted you to know that I love you the same now as before.”

Paul calls this unfeigned love. Unfeigned love is unconditional love. It is love unaffected by anything. This is the kind of love that Jesus has for us. His love is unaffected by anything we do. His love is unconditional.

Lord, thank You for Your unconditional love. Thank you that when I mess up, You still love me and Your love calls me to repentance and restoration. Lord, I want to express this kind of love to others. Forgive me for judging. Forgive me for criticizing. Forgive me for putting conditions on my love. I embrace the fullness of Your love today and I will walk in it.

HE LOVES ME
Devotion: Unfeigned Love
(Adapted from 2 Corinthians 6:6-7)
Verse 1:
Why did He go to Calvary?
Why was His life’s blood shed for me?
Why did He suffer as no man had ever done?
There’s just one reason, I am the one.
Chorus:
He loves me, He loves me, Jesus loves me (repeat)
Verse 2:
When I am sad He loves me
There have even been times when I have been bad
But He still loved me
And when it seems like there is not a friend around who cares for me
That’s when I get down on my prayer bones
And I have a talk with Jesus
I find out that He still loves me

NEW BEGINNINGS / Beginning Now

Happy New Year!
This is the first of 365 devotions and music videos
to help the believer
to get rooted and grounded in love.
We are beginning this year with
the first of seven devotions
with the theme
"God's Love For Us"
Log on everyday this week
and get rooted and grounded
in a greater awareness of
God's love for you.

(Lamentations 3:22-23; 1John 1:9; Phil 3:9; 2Cor 5:17; Psalms 100:4)
New Years Day seems to offer us new beginnings, fresh opportunities to make changes in our lives and to turn over a new leaf, so to speak. It is a time for New Year’s resolutions.
Christ offers us a new beginning in Him every day.

Your compassions fail not.
They are new every morning.
Great is Your faithfulness.

We have a new beginning in Christ through repentance. However, if I am in denial, repentance is not possible.

But if we confess our sins
He is faithful and just to forgive us
and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness.

Father, I have confessed my sins knowing that You are faithful and just to forgive me and and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. As a result, I am now the righteousness of God in Christ. I am a new creature in you. Old things have passed away and behold all things are new. Now I enter Your gates with thanksgiving and proceed into Your courts with praise. It is so good to know that I can have a new beginning in You any day including today - New Years Day 2017, because of Your love for me.

Beginning Now
Devotion: New Beginnings
(Lamentations 3:22-23; 1John 1:9; Phil 3:9; 2Cor 5:17; Psalms 100:4)
Verse 1
Beginning now, I don’t have to wait
Beginning now I’ll enter heavens gates with thanksgiving in my heart
Today I will start and I’ll enter His courts with praise
Chorus
Beginning now my hands I wanna raise
Beginning now I’ll give You all the praise
Beginning now I’m gonna bless your holy name
Beginning now I worship You through all eternity
Verse 2
Eternity begins today
Eternity is not so far away
For we sit in heavenly places with You Lord
And where You are is where we want to be

THE BLAME GAME / Fellowship Begins

“Building Godly Character Through Love
This is 1 of 7 devotions and songs
that will eventually be produced with this same theme

(Genesis 3:11-13; Deuteronomy 30:15; 1 Peter 3; Ephesians 4:31; 1 John 1:7-9)

Have you ever blamed someone else for something that you are responsible for? Adam did and so did Eve. Adam blamed Eve, yet he was responsible to redirect her. Eve blamed the serpent, yet she listened to his lies. They didn’t take responsibility for their own actions. They practiced the blame game and the only place it got them was out of the presence of God.
Have you ever blamed an inanimate object for doing something that irritated you? The inanimate object doesn’t do anything except act as a tool to manifest what is inside. If the latch on the suitcase is not working correctly and you hit it, it becomes a test of your patience. Hitting the suitcase will develop anger into your character.

Character is developed from the Word. The Word must be the base of developing character. Without the Word, you cannot know true character. The Word tells us how to live and how to treat others. The Word gives instruction to a man on how to treat his wife. It gives a wife instruction on how to treat her husband. Children learn what they are responsible for in the Word. The Word gives parents guidelines on raising their children. Employers get instructions about how to treat an employee from the Word.
Lord, there are a lot of choices that I don’t have. I didn’t have the choice of my parents. I didn’t have the choice of the color of my skin. But I do have the choice of my character. I do have the choice of life or death and I choose life. I choose You, Lord.

Child, I put before you life and death. You can choose to love or you can choose hate. If you choose life, you will live and blessings will follow. If you choose life, you will live in my presence. Fear is the base for all sin and it is the result of choosing death. My love casts out fear and helps you to choose life.

FELLOWSHIP BEGINS
(1 Corinthians 13:6; 1 John 1:7-9)
Verse:
If we confess our sins, He is faithful
If we confess our sins,
He is just to forgive us
And to cleanse us from all unrighteousness
Chorus:
I’m not in denial anymore
Shine Your light on my sins
One by one I’m confessing all of them
This is where fellowship begins
Ending:
This is where my love walk begins
In fellowship with You
As I walk in the light as You are in the light
Fellowship, fellowship, fellowship, fellowship begins

THE REAL VERSUS THE COUNTERFEIT / Real Thing

This is the 1st of 1 devotion
with the theme
“Genuine Love”
Each subject will eventually have 7 devotions

THE REAL VERSUS THE COUNTERFEIT
(1 Corinthians 13:6; Romans 12:9)
"Let your love be sincere, a real thing."
This devotion comes to you as a minute part of a worldwide revival of the love of God. However, there is a similar movement today from secular society. Much of this secular movement agrees with the Love Chapter, teaching us to be patient and kind. The difference is that it is a compromising kind of love that embraces acts that are offensive to God and His way of doing things. When you sense compromise in your spirit, you can be sure that the real thing has been replaced with a counterfeit.

When we embrace and involve ourselves in the real thing - the real agape love - we will not only be kind and gentle and understanding but we will lead others onto a path of righteousness. God's love is good and wholesome and clean and gives instructions to do what is right in His sight. As we are rooted and grounded in God's agape love we will always lead others in a path of righteousness. We must not mistake God's love to be a compromising love.

I was in a movie theatre one time and within ten minutes I became offended at what was being depicted on the big screen so I got up to leave. As I was making my exit and walking down the aisle, I looked over my shoulder and noticed that no one else was leaving. As I looked closer, I realized that no one in that theatre looked the slightest bit offended. I knew I was in the Bible Belt and I am sure some of the people in those seats were professing Christians. As I got into my car, I became more concerned about the complacency of the believers in that theater than about the offensive scene.
Indeed God's love instructs us to love the sinner and hate the sin. Paul instructed the Romans to develop an attitude toward sin.
"Hate what is evil. Loathe all ungodliness.

"Turn in horror from wickedness, but hold fast to that which is good."

Father, I will not grow weary of repenting. I will not make excuses for my sin nor for the sin of others. You loved us so much that You gave Your Son, not to save us in our sin but to save us from our sin. I receive your forgiveness and I will extend the invitation for others to experience the real thing.

REAL THING
(1 Corinthians 13:6; Galatians 5:22 Romans 12:9)
Let your love be a real thing (3X)
Hate what is evil, loath ungodliness,
Turn in horror from wickedness,
But hold fast, hold fast to that which is good
Hold fast to that which is good,
Hold fast to that which is good
