THE PRODUCTS OF DISRESPECT

(Adapted from Genesis 3:1, 4; 1 Samuel 15:23;1 Corinthians 13:5)

The word rude is associated with the spirit of rebellion. People refer to a teenager’s life today as a normal season of rebellion and rudeness and it is expected and accepted. However, rebellion that is prevalent in teens and young adults today is not a normal “teenager” trait. If you look back at movies and sitcoms produced before 1960, you will see almost no sign of teenage rebellion. I believe that the rebellion that is so prevalent among teenagers today is a product of demonic influence that was released on the earth in great magnitude in the 60's, especially at the Woodstock festival in 1969. I have a 18 year old daughter and I refuse to identify rebellion and rudeness as a normal part of her life. I do identify it as the very essence of Satan himself.

The Word says “rebellion is like witchcraft.” Satan sowed rebellion in God’s perfect creation. “Has God said, you shall not eat of every tree of the garden? You shall not surely die. . .” Can you hear the tone of disrespect? He sowed doubt and disrespect and it gave way to rebellion. 

Rebellion is not a natural stage of life 
and does not have to be permanent. 
 Rebellion and rudeness 
are to be handled spiritually. 
If you know a teenager 
that is caught in the trap of rebellion, 
pray this prayer for them. Place there name in the blank spaces below:

Father, I know that I am not fighting flesh and blood and I know You have given me all spiritual authority in the battle for the spirit, soul and body of ____. I trust You to work and move in their life as I speak Your Word over them. I speak over _____'s life to be self-controlled, alert, resisting the enemy and standing firm in faith.

I command all enemy assignments against _______ to cease. I speak to rebellion and command it to bow at the name of Jesus and release its pressure on ______ now, by the blood of the Lamb. I dismantle all evil influence that would cause _____ to fall into errors of judgment and make wrong choices and I command you to release your hold on _____ now, in Jesus' name.

I stand against the work and workers of evil and crush their power in Jesus' Name. I stand against ancestral, generational and familiar empowerments. I plead the covering of grace and mercy over _________'s life and believe he/she feels the holy conviction of the Holy Spirit.

I renounce and break the power of false loyalties and sever soul ties with anybody who is not sold out to the true and living God. I believe the Holy Spirit is dealing with _____ to close doors that bring demonic harassment.

Father, I pray for the Captain of the Lord's Host to expose the schemes of wickedness and defeat the tactics of the enemy in _____’s life. Thank you for Psalm 91 protection and for the heavenly guard of angels. I call forth warring angels to fight this battle under the command of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Ancient of Days and the Captain of the Lord's Host! Father, you are the One who commands light to shine out of darkness and I believe that you shine in ______'s heart and that light reveals Your glory in his/her life as he/she walks out his/her destiny one day at a time.
