LOVE'S HIGHEST PRIORITY / Jesus Saves

This is the 5th of 7 devotions with the theme of
"Salvation"

LOVE’S HIGHEST PRIORITY

(Adapted from Luke 10:20; 15:4-7)

Some years ago, I was one of the first to come up on an auto accident. The young lady was so badly crushed that she could not speak. I shouted “Can anybody pray with me?!” Not only did no one respond but they looked at me dumbfounded. I spoke to the young lady, “You are about to cross over into eternity. I know you can’t talk but just say this prayer from your heart.” I could see the desperation in her eyes turn to peace as I led her in the sinner’s prayer.

What man of you, if he has a hundred sheep and should lose one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his own shoulders, rejoicing. And when he gets home, he summons together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep which was lost. Thus, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one especially wicked person who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who have no need of repentance.

Lord, I want Love’s highest priority to be my highest priority. Lord, increase my concern for lost humanity and my the salvation of a soul be my greatest joy.

JESUS SAVES
Devotion: Love’s Highest Priority
(Adapted from Luke 10:20; 15:4-7)
Verse 1:
A sheep had drifted far away,
Far away from the fold
The very same sheep, the very same sheep
That the shepherd once did hold
Then he left the 99 for this one lost sheep to find
With His hand he reached way down
To the sheep destruction bound
He brought him back and said rejoice,
Yes, the Shepherd said rejoice
For my sheep once lost was found
Chorus:
Jesus saves, Jesus saves, for He made a way
When the way had not been made
On the cross He paid the cost
No matter how your soul’s been tossed
To the uttermost, Jesus saves
Verse 2:
I was lost out in the cold
Far away from the fold
It seemed I reached the end,
My life I could not mend
To nothing I could hold;
Then by faith I looked on high;
I found the Shepherd was nearby
He lifted me redeemed my soul;
With His word He made me whole
I know it by experience that there is deliverance;
I want to let the whole world know
